My Story
Keira Moore Majeed is an award-winning Peer Recovery Specialist, Community Activist, Reentry Specialist, and Pardon Consultant, originally from Big Stone Gap, Virginia, and now residing in the Hampton Roads Area of Virginia. She is the owner and operator of KM Enterprises LLC, a professional consulting company specializing in reintegration and peer support. Keira is also the founder of Tri-Cities Juneteenth, a cultural festival celebrating Juneteenth.
Keira holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from King University. She is a mentor to both youth and adults, an alum of the Kingsport Leadership Program class of 2022, Recovery Leadership Academy class of 2024, and a founding member of the Northeast Tennessee Association of Black Social Workers. Additionally, she is the current Chair of the Region 5 Recovery Advisory Council, collaborating with other peers to support regional recovery efforts, training, and advocacy.
Among her many roles, Keira serves as a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist, Reentry Specialist, and is working toward becoming a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor. Her work includes advocating for recovery support in correctional systems, serving as a consultant for pardon processes, and implementing peers to aid in sustainable recovery and reduce recidivism rates for individuals with substance use and mental health challenges.
In her free time, Keira enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and living life on her terms. With a deep-seated passion for helping those in need, she often recalls times when she was on the receiving end, which fuels her commitment to community care. Keira's most noteworthy accomplishment is overcoming childhood trauma, addiction, and incarceration ensuring that nothing stands in the way of God’s calling on her life.
